So fall is officially in the air here in Michigan, and it is my favorite time of year. I thrive in fall and have some wonderful childhood memories of playing and exploring this time of year.
Here are some reasons why autumn is so special:
*The weather is nice and cool!*
As far as weather goes, you can’t get any better than autumn. Here in Michigan it is usually 60 degrees around this time, with lots of sun and a cool breeze. It is absolutely perfect! You can just throw on a light sweater and you are good to go.
*Halloween comes to town!*
The spooky holiday has always been my favorite. As a boy I loved to go trick-or-treating and I would often dress up as the ghost from Scream! There is just something about this holiday that makes you feel good. It is not as overdone when compared to Christmas.
*Oh my, the colors!*
Living in the region that I do, we get to experience some of the finest fall colors around. Sure, they aren’t as vibrant as in the New England states, but they are still pretty spectacular. Bright colors play a big role in my life, especially as an artist. Anybody that follows me and my beach paintings will know that color is first and foremost in my work! I can’t get enough of gazing at vibrant colors, especially out in nature and on the trees.
*Cider and donuts, baby!*
In the fall we get to go to the apple orchard to indulge in fresh apple cider, donuts, and caramel apples. Can you think of anything better? I can’t! 🙂 I make a point to go at LEAST three times during the fall, and I have since I was young. Our mother used to take us every year for our annual hayride and jaunt through the pumpkin patch to pick out a dandy.
Those are the reasons why I love autumn so much! Here is a beach painting fresh off of the easel to commemorate this glorious season.
I hope all of you have a wonderful autumn, if you happen to live in a place with three or four seasons!
Until next time,
let’s bring some color into the world.
